What You'll Do:

* Be the first point of contact for benefit plan management, have oversight of benefit transactions, and be the admin' contact for 401(a) and 457(b) retirement plans, and Deferred Compensation (including QSERP and QGEBA).
* Work with HR leadership on strategic benefit efforts including:

* Providing detailed recommendations for implementation of new programs or modifications
* Determining appropriate benefit cost-sharing
* Plan funding

* Be the first point contact for performance and compensation management processes
* Lead annual compensation planning to determine base pay, merit adjustments and performance incentives
* Compile market data for review, benchmarking and market competitiveness
* Update salary structures and research market trends to make recommendations for improvement
* Process pay and related transactions in HRIS (Paycom) for new hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations
* Participate in the research and implementation of assigned human resources-related training programs
* Administer the leave management process

What We're Looking For:

* At least 5 years of HR Generalist experience with an emphasis on analyzing, designing, and administering compensation and benefits programs
* Experience in government retirement plans, such as CalPERS, strongly preferred
* Bachelor's degree, or demonstrated work experience, with an emphasis in business management, human resources management, or organizational development
* Current PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, and/or SHRM-SCP
* Ideally, Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) and/or Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) credentials
* Advanced level skills and demonstrated proficiency with an HRIS, ideally Paycom
* Ability to work independently and also in a group where team collaboration is essential
